Singular nouns.


 Singular Nouns:

*Nouns  can be: Singular or Plural.

1- When you are talking about one thing or person, use A Singular Noun.

* For example:

A tent.
A taxi.
A house.
A park
A doctor
A lady
An idea
An oven
An exercise
A table.
A computer
A bag
A wall
A Notebook
A book
A pencil
A pen
A blouse
A skirt
A belt
A ring
A earring
A wallet
A Suitcase

Notes:
1- Word called articles or determiners are used to signal nouns.

Examples:

A river         Three biscuits
A castle         Five eggs
An idea
An armchair

2- The article An is used before Nouns that begins with Vowels: A,E,I,O,U.

Examples:

An Artist .

 An Eye.

An Oven.

An Umbrella.

An Insect.

3- The article A is used before Nouns that begins with the other letters, called Consonants.

*But some words dont follow this rules:

A uniform.

A unit.

A user.


*A not An, is used because the vowel U in these words is pronounced like the word You;

An hour 

An heir

An honor.

*An not A, is used because the consonant  H in these words is not pronounced.

  The verb to be: The verb  to be is one of the most common verbs in the english language. *The form of the verb to be: *When? Who? Plural nouns.

Plural Nouns: Use a plural Noun when you are talking about two or more people, places or things. Just add S to make the most nouns plural.
