Use there is and are to say what exists or what you can have.
Use there is with singular nouns and there are with plural nouns:
Examples
1- There is a tree in our garden.
2- There is girl called sofi in my class.
3-There is fish for dinner 🥘
4-There is nothing to do when it rains.
5- There is a cat sitting on the bench
6- there are cows in the field.
7- There are some very big ships in the harbor today.
*Notes: the contraction for there is is: there’s.
There isn't" y "there aren't" son contracciones del verbo "to be" (is/are) en oraciones negativas en inglés:
- "There isn't" se usa para oraciones negativas con sustantivos singulares. Por ejemplo,
- "There isn't a pharmacy near the hotel".
- "There aren't" se usa para oraciones negativas con sustantivos plurales.
- Por ejemplo, "There aren't any restaurants near the hotel".
Para hacer preguntas, se invierte el orden de las palabras: "is there" y "are there".
Para hacer preguntas negativas, se usa "isn't there".
En oraciones negativas con sustantivos plurales o incontables, se usa el pronombre "any" (algún, ninguno).
Por ejemplo, "There isn't any money in his wallet".
