Expressing opinions and feelings: B1- intermediate:


 To express an opinion at the B1 level, use simple phrases like "I think...", "I feel...", and "In my opinion...". 


You can also start with expressions such as "Personally, I think..." or "From my perspective..." to make your view clear. To agree, use phrases like "I agree" or "That's true", while to disagree politely, try "I see your point, but..." or "I'm not so sure about that". 


Phrases for Giving Your Opinion 


* "I think...": or "I don't think..."

* "I feel (that)..."

* "In my opinion..."

* "Personally, I believe..."

* "From my perspective..."

* "It seems to me that..."

* "The way I see it,..."

Phrases for Stronger Opinions 


* "I'm convinced that..."

* "I'm sure that..."

* "I have no doubt..."

* You can also add adverbs like "honestly" or adjectives to show your feelings, for example, "Honestly, I find...".

Phrases for Agreeing "I agree., "I think so too., "That's true., and "Absolutely.. 


Phrases for Disagreeing (Politely) 


* "I see your point, but..."

* "I see things differently."

* "I'm not sure I agree with that."

* "I'm afraid, I disagree."

* "I don't really agree with that."

How to Ask for an Opinion "What do you think?, "What's your opinion (on this)?, and "Do you agree with that?. 


Tips for B1 Learners

* Practice regularly: Try to use these phrases in conversations to become more comfortable with them. 

* Explain your reasons: Don't just state your opinion; explain why you think that way to make your point clearer. 

* Be polite: In formal situations, use polite phrases for disagreement to avoid sounding rude.

*Giving opinions*


- Use phrases like "I think," "I believe," or "In my opinion" to express your thoughts.


Examples:

- I think this movie is great.

- I believe we should invest in renewable energy.

- In my opinion, the best way to stay healthy is to exercise regularly.


*Agreeing and disagreeing*


- Use phrases like "I agree," "I see what you mean," or "I disagree" to respond to others' opinions.


Examples:

- I agree that climate change is a serious issue.

- I see what you mean about the importance of social media.

- I disagree with your point about the benefits of fast food.


*Softening opinions*


- Use phrases like "I think maybe," "I'm not sure," or "It seems to me" to soften your opinions.


Examples:

- I think maybe we should consider other options.

- I'm not sure if this is the best solution.

- It seems to me that we need more information.


*Asking for opinions*


- Use phrases like "What do you think about," "Do you think," or "In your opinion" to ask for others' thoughts.


Examples:

- What do you think about the new policy?

- Do you think this is a good idea?

- In your opinion, what's the best way to learn a new language?
