These


Singular.

Plural.


This is use to talk about one thing.

For example: 


1- This is a laptop 馃捇 


2-What’s this? It’s a flash drive.


3- This apple is red 馃崕 


This is singular (points to one thing) and these is plural (points to more than one thing). Both are used for people, objects, or ideas that are close by or happening right now. 



This" (Singular)Object close to you: 


"This cup of coffee is hot."


Introducing someone: "This is my friend, Maria."


Idea or time: "This week has been incredibly busy."



Examples using "These" (Plural)Objects close to you:


 "These shoes are very comfortable."


Grouping items: "Where did these papers come from?"


People/Things: "These students studied hard for the test."

The Words Am, Is and Are, are the simple present form of the verb to be. 1-Use am with the Pronoun I 2-Use is with The singular nouns like My dad and the teacher, and with the pronoun he, she and it. 3-Use are with Plural nouns like My  Parents and Jenny and Mary, and with the Pronouns We, You and they.
